About National Knowledge Center for the Health Services
The NOKC supports the development of quality in the health services by summarising research, promoting the use of research results, contributing to quality improvement, measuring the quality of health services, and working to improve patient safety.
The centre was formally established in 2004 organized under the Norwegian Directorate of Health, but is scientifically and professionally independent. NOKC has a wide range of products and services among which those that are more related to HTA are: Systematic reviews, Health economic evaluations, Impact assessment of healthcare services and Mednytt.no (MedNews - a database with early assessments of emerging technologies).
NOKC is a founding partner of EUnetHTA, and has been participating in several of EUnetHTA`s work packages. NOKC served as secretariat of the HTAi Policy Forum from 2009 to 2011. Currently, NOKC is leading the dissemination and introduction of mini-HTA in Norwegian hospitals.
